Overdue Song Tag

On November 11, Maggie tagged me for a song post.  I've never been part of the blogging community, but I said I would do it, and I was already planning on writing a song-themed post, so this seems like a good opportunity to finally follow through.

So, here goes.

1. First song that comes to your mind

Red Bandana by Aaron Watson.  Not totally sure why.  It's a great song, though; actually the middle song in a trilogy.  Riding with Red, Red Bandana, Trying Like the Devil.  They all fade into each other, it's very cool.

2. A song that always makes you happy

Oof, that's a tough one.  There are a lot.  I think I would have to go with When it Rains by Eli Young Band.  There are other songs that make me happier when I'm already happy, but this one makes me feel understood when I'm at my most grouchy or lonesome.

3. A song you hate

Most pop songs, but we'll go with Knee Deep by the Zac Brown Band.

4. Favorite romantic song

The Hard Way by Keith Urban, but closely followed by 500 Miles by the Proclaimers, Long Trip Alone by Dierks Bentley, and Dreamed with One by Cody Jinks.

5. Favorite sad song

Most of the songs I like have some tinge of sadness in them, so this is a hard one.  But it ends up being The Wanting by Cody Jinks.

6. A song that brings back memories

Fighter by Christina Aguilera.  This was one that my siblings used to play back in the olden days when I didn't really listen to any of my own music.  I just remember it being blasted in the family room in the evening.

7. A song that you have been playing on repeat

Red River Blue by Blake Shelton.  If you listen, you can hear Miranda singing background vocals.

And!  To Learn Her by Miranda Lambert.  Man, I miss these two.

8. Favorite song by your favorite artist

Well, my favorite artist also happens to sing my favorite song, so I'll skip over that one, and tell you to listen to No Words by Cody Jinks.

9. Weirdest song you like

Yeah, it's definitely going to have to be Bushes of Love by Bad Lip Reading.

10. All time favorite song

Head Case by Cody Jinks.  Head Case is both philosophical and emotional, both grim and prayerful.  I relate a lot to Cody Jinks, and this is him at his best.

I'm a little sad that that's over, actually.  There's so much more good music out there to be heard and had.  Maybe I'll write another post later with my own questions (which I'll then answer).

Also, I didn't put the year up there.  You might have assumed the November I was talking about was 2019, but it was not.  Maggie tagged me in 2015.  So there you go, Maggie.  I told you I would, and I have.

Signing off.
